Join us in Gardnerville, Nevada at Blomma Flower Farm during peak zinnia season while indulging in local pastries and coffee. Come see all the varieties we hybridize in all their abundant glory. Slip into an isolation chamber to get a pollinator’s perspective. Walk the rows and rows of blooms and immerse yourself in the beauty of the flowers with the Sierra Nevada Mountains as the back drop. Sit and eat pastries while you sip your coffee among the plants. Meander and take photos to your heart’s content, relaxing in the overflowing blossoms at their summer peak. wander to the back yard to visit the back cottage garden and bask in the glorious dappled shade under 80-year-old elm trees. Stroll over the bridge to grassy area with peach, apple pear and cherry trees. The whole grounds will be open to visit and enjoy.

  • Participants must be 16 years and older

  • Pastries and coffee included.

  • Limit: 25 people

  • Those registered will receive an email on the Monday before the event with detailed driving directions and other helpful information. Please check your spam folder if you've registered and do not see it.

  • Please make your selection carefully as all sales are final, no refunds, credits, or transfers are offered for students who can not make it after registering.

  • Please wear comfortable closed shoes.

  • No Bathroom facilities available. Please plan ahead.

  • We will not cancel for weather.

  • Light seasonal refreshments are provided during the workshop.

  • Limit is 25 people; five students must be signed up for the class to run.

Clarifications

  • Price is per person. All individuals at the workshop must have purchased a ticket. No one can come with you "as a guest".

  • No animals allowed. Bringing a pet forfeits the tour.

  • This is a rain or shine event held in the field. However, in case of severe weather, (or insufficient sign ups) the event may be rescheduled or canceled. Students will be notified in advance as much as possible and if the class is cancelled by Blomma Flower Farm, full refunds will be promptly made to all who registered.

Blomma Flower Farm is a working farm and has hazards typical of a working farm including, but not limited to:

  1. Potential stinging insects including bee hives. Please bring your own epi pen if you are concerned as we don’t have one;

  2. Uneven surfaces including gravel and wood chips, please wear closed, sturdy shoes;

  3. Sticks, metal stakes and sharp objects, please be aware of hazards and stay in permitted areas only;

  4. Other typical farm conditions.
